"i can inform you that the jewellry box awaits mining and is totally untouched."
"so the big jewlry box still waiting."
HT
The "Jewelry Box" consisted of the Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) that Cudeco were going to ship to China some years back, coming from the
"Bonanza Zone". This area of the pit was accessed years ago from the initial "Box Cut".
Remember all the lovely copper drill core picks! They all came from the "Jewelry Box"
From what you are saying the September Quarter is not looking to good for the Copper Discovery of the Decade
Whalewatcher, mate, actually you are wrong. sorry to be the carrier of bad news. The Jewelry Box first sighted the high grade at 45m to 55m deep, all the way to 140m. they are now at 48m so just touched the top of it. the jewlry box continues to 140m. What they have taken out so far is only 5 or 6 metres of the high grade jewelry box. couple of thousand tonnes only. I am reliably informed that because of the problems with the wear on the components like the scrubber and the piping that they forgot to get lined was wearing holes in the piping, and mate on top of that they swapped out one of the rolls crushers for a cone crusher and it could not handle the native copper. the rolls crushers had been proved highly successful. The problem NOW is that because the dewatering pumps have been turned off they have had to move to higher ground to the North for the sulphide ore away form the native copper because the pit is so wet that the trucks are getting bogged and the explosives are in water. Remember the native copper is in the clay zone, and because the water table has not been reduced because of no water management the pit is inaccessible for the native copper. Bloody hell mate theyll need a submarine when it rains.
