Silver at $34.15, gold at $1,494.90, a ratio of about 44:1.
Historically the ratio has ranged from 10:1 - 98:1. More recently, since 1970 the ratio has ranged from 20:1 - 89:1.
Even though silver has dropped far more than gold in the past couple of weeks, the current ratio at 44:1 is still in silver's favour compared to the mean of 54:1 for the past forty years. But I would still prefer a mine rich in gold than rich in silver.
