Very quiet isnt it!! I might add though that I know for a fact that things are ticking along very nicely.

I attended an info session that Cortona held at the Majors Creek Hall last Friday evening. This was a session to provide information to the locals as part of the consultation process.

It included a brief on the history of gold discovery and mining in the area, an overview of the Environmental Assessment (EA) and the plans for the mine site and it's construction. This also included a video to provide a simulated demonstration on how the ore will be mined.

I was fortunate enough to receive a personal tour through the display by Peter van de Borgh. There were a few company reps attending as well as two reps from the company that have produced the EA to provide an explanation of the assessment process.

Current activity on site is there are two drilling rigs operating to drill to around 600m directly under the main lode. Additionally there is surface exploration occuring on properties within their tenement north of Braidwood.

All in all the evening was very informative and from what I could determine the future is looking very very positive.

Cortona is definitely on the radar.....not a doubt in the world.
