You pose an excellent question, Basumal, regarding actual vs elevated values of metals in soil samples.
As I'm not a geologist or scientist, I don't know why they use such a term. Could be related to the need for a greater sample size, testing methods, or simply the use of the term until further (think underground drilling) has occurred.
It seems to be related to the actual testing methodolgy, but would appreciate any ideas from our learned HC crew.

p.s. I'm happy with the elevated values to date, as I am confident they are part of the greater picture - that being the Proterozoic (rare) mafic intrusion.
