Any trader worth her salt is going to program in minimum volume as well as number of trades before a trigger.
Could be as suggested simply that the computer came back from lunch (or a live feed as whiz kids probably call it) . This is evidenced by the reduced appetite of the nibbling.
Could be to guage the sentiment. If people like us have time to waste like this, it is an indication that the market is becalmed. Maybe HotCopper could add "bored" to the Sentiment drop down list, that would answer this question.
