This is where trading strategy matters. If you play safe and buy stocks, you struggle to get back what you have lost due to the selloff. However, if you are willing to trade options, sell deep puts on LYC and the effect will be 5x where you can gain a lot more. Of course, you need to have spare cash to accept assignments if LYC does not run up as quickly as you hope. You will have to buy the shares and wait or buy the shares, sell them and sell more puts again.
It's not easy to make a profit on a stock like LYC unless you time it well and enter at the right spot. Similarly, you have the same issues with IGO, PLS, AKE, ... Timing is the key to winning. And having the cash to avoid crashing out when it, unfortunately, drops too sharply both due to bad news and the shorts. You need the capital to buy more at low prices.
