Because it is wildly expensive for marginal chance of improvement and there are existing treatments which are repurposed drugs which are dirt cheap, approved, and effective.
But, putting all that aside, the real problem is that there will be massive amounts of money spent on treatments. These will be fast tracked and dirt cheap compared to the old stems option. Besides, the stems tucked away in SIs freezer will have curdled by the time any approvals are done.
