I think a lot of people agreed with you re. the expected timing of the announcement ... the SP & market-depth movements kind of peaked and fell off from approximately the 1pm to 2pm mark.

It seems there's no announcement for today, so it's dropped back a bit (although so far it's still a good increase unless big changes at 4:10pm final close).

I wonder if on occassions like these, if they were about to make an announcement, they hold it back a day or two (or more?) to avoid ASX queries re. big jumps prior to announcements. Who knows. Whatever, it's all good, and was good to see today's spike & general enthusiasm. When (/if) good news does happen, it might be even better off a higher base.
