I normally see the overall trend starting weekly,daily,hourly,15mins and 5 mins to do an intraday trade.I also use pivot points to see support and resistance levels.Usually i see the fib levels too for entry and exits. To fine tune my targets when i am already in the trade i search for flags,pennant formations to maximise the trade.I also have the live FX reuters news for any surprise announcements.
So far i have traded equities,options and the index and i prefer FX most because of it's liquidity and the 24 hours coverage as i can choose my own time to pick any time to suit me.Also u don't get stopped out in the open like the dog stocks as the big boys are always gunning your stops.
