    yes agree the foundations are crumbling. The board as of July 2012 will be split into Qantas International & Domestic. This tells me that the International arm will have to shape up and compete with the International Airlines eg lower wages, flexable workers, stick with the high volume passenger routes, The company taxes in Asia are no more than 20% according to Nathan Tinkler. So the overheads will have to be cut to allow for fuel costs ect.

    Fundametally Qantas will have a hard road while the dollar is at parity. The shareholder is loosing patience and as mentioned the share market traders will see oportunity in shorting the Qantas further into the red. And the rating agency will make it hard for Qantas to borrow.

    I think some big investor would like to own an airline.

    They have come and gone over the yrs eg Compass Airlines 1 & Ansett, and some joint alliances eg British airlines.

    Yes so much running costs/price pressures on our conpanies ATM.
