its custodian and settlement I.e the buyers and sellers are using the banks platform…
it may be funds, but most HFT is done on treasuries and FX, at least when I was in the industry it was…
lastly to HFT equities, they are typically large cap with big volumes, machines need to have the ability to enter and exit …otherwise it becomes to manual….and expensive…it’s costs a lot of money to build HFT ALGO…
