Thinking about the lithium market, how does one work out future price?

I took lead as an example, just about every heavy duty battery for the last 100 years was mainly lead, now why did lead massively increase in price when so much of it is being mined? 2004

Notice how the price of lead is starting to decline as Lithium starts to enter the heavy power market for batteries. Now you can buy lithium starter batteries for the car, lithium standby batteries for industrial systems. 2014

We may see lead start to fall very heavily as lithium takes over the traditional lead market segment, Lithium may just boom like lead.  Anyway its worth looking into.
