Partly from the SOO board - Solar leasing
I like the comment on a solar news website that German residential systems are now being installed for about $1.30Aus/Wp. That is half to 2/3 of the listed price for 3kW systems in Aus. Why the margin?
And if Australian prices head that way where is the profit for a solar installer/supplier/reseller? Residential systems will have profits of cents in the dollar.
The only significant profit will be in larger bespoke systems for commercial and utility installations.
Solar Choice has made a wise decision by getting involved in the financing of larger systems (commission fees) as well as contract fees for design/installation/maintenance.

Incidentally India has just completed an auction for utility scale solar system with bidding going as low as 14cents Aus$/kWhr
