Trader stop losses being hit and general risk-off sentiment across the market. When people see an ocean of red before them, they lose all context, forget their investment plans, and move with the herd. I guarantee you, the vast majority of sellers are not doing so because they think the outlook has changed for the company. They are either selling everything indiscriminately or they are betting on a continued downtrend so they can buy in at a lower price.
