The way it works is, when such a negative announcement is made then the brokers short the stock, next morning their analysts reports downgrade the stock and the clients (like lemmings) sell. Who is then soaking up the stock from the panicking little guy, pretty simple.
Yesterdays ASX data shows a gross short sale position of just on 29mio TLS - or just over 19% of turnover.
