I agree - demand for coal is not going to increase as much as the demand for gas for example. But I reckon China will get a sweetheart deal at Copenhagen - hence they will still be able to increase their use of coal. Other countries such as US and AUS will have to decrease.
I agree with you that if the sale falls over, the SP will decline. But to what level?? I believe that for long term holders, this decline will only be a buy opp.
I don't really have a problem as such with ST traders. They are generally responsible for much quicker price discovery - which for me means that SP's can overcorrect to the downside and upside - which if your a savvy long terrm trader is a good thing!
Hopefully, in the next few weeks PB is eating mushroom soup!
