.NB00.31-5] Rio Tinto reported uranium production at its Rossing mine in Namibia totalled 726 tonnes U3O8 (615.6 tU) during the second quarter of 2000, compared with 800 t U3O8 (678.4 tU) during the same period in 1999. Production at Rossing for the first half of 2000 totalled 1544 tonnes U3O8 (1309 tU), compared with 1640 tonnes U3O8 (1390.6 tU) in the first half of 1999. The Palabora mine in South Africa, of which Rio Tinto owns 46.5%, produced 19 tonnes U3O8 (16.1 tU) in the second quarter and 33 tonnes U3O8 (28 tU) in the first half of 2000.
