if they do not reassure the market soon, they are going to have either some very angry ex-investors who sold out to cheap or some very angry continuing investors who held on the basis that SM was very confident (even up to a few weeks ago) that a deal would be complete by the end of March.
There is such a thing as continuous disclosure and to not say something to the market soon raises some serious questions.
