    Hi TR,
    Yes, always best to remove the gall bladder when it is not acutely inflamed as the operation is much more straight forward. Patients will usauly be treated for the acute inflammation and booked in for elective surgery when the GB is not inflamed. When acutely inflamed, the GB can become stuck to the liver and adjacent structures and the complication rate is much higher.
    I don't envy what you have been through but sounds like you have come through the worst of it and I'm very pleased to hear that.
