Glimmers of a bright future amongst the doom and gloom... Amanda recent suggestion that Lynas have outgrown the lamp and ready to expand could be just the news we need.
A timely announcement that countries are invited to show expressions of interest for a new facility would set the cat amongst the pidgeons.
Even if the lamp renains, Malaysia will not want to see another country have a second LAMP because then there is competition for downstream business.
Also, a new facility would probably be more efficient design based on what’s been learnt at LAMP1 so would pose a threat of gradual winding down of Malaysian facility.
