That's a tough call. Maybe ego in some cases?

Take my sharing the size of our relatively small holding as an example here. We're a single income family. My wife's an NDIS carer for our older boy (ASD), trying to give him the best start possible (endless classes/practice, etc). I'm hopeful that when he goes to school next year (thankfully a "normal" one) she can have a break. This investment has (thus far) made that an easy "yes".

Nothing to boast about there.

So, in my case, the actual reason for sharing is world view. Like salary, I view it as mutually beneficial information.
