I was listening to a radio program the other day where a psychologist was talking about people's obsession with having to answer the mobile phone/emails. The psychologist went on to explain that people get a kick of endorphin when a message is received and this creates an irresistible urge to respond to the message (txt/email/message).

The main influencing factor here was the "what's in the box" feeling when the message is received. This got me thinking about the extension of this idea to a physical delivery of an item.

I believe there will be an overwhelming demand from the public once they know that they can be notified via txt or email of a parcel/mail delivery. It'll be like a txt message from a friend but with the added kicker of a physical engagement/excitement when they pick up the parcel.

I also believe that the PAD system will enhance the experience of item delivery to the point where it will create further demand for deliveries thereby increased business for the logistics company. I wonder if our trial company realises this. People will get addicted to item delivery in the same way they are addicted to txt's, emails. Its obviously not going to be on the same scale, but the underlying driver will be there. The little endorphin hit.

I think I'm having one of those hits right now.

IMO, PAD is going to be huge.
