    Absolute rubbish. The Murray River has died in spots resulting from black water events (rotting eucalypt leaves from state forests have taken the oxygen from flood water) resulting in serious losses of native fish and crays.

    The water stored in Dartmouth, Hume and Eildon contribute to environmental flows that will now flush out the system with fresh water.

    Had these dams not been constructed the river would have remained dead for years.

    The only unregulated river on the Vic side of the border is the Ovens River - this river dried up below Wangaratta in 2008. We had 2 weeks water available in June 2008 from Lake Buffalo then we were out - fortunatley it rained.

    Strategically placed dams are necessary for the future, for flood mitigation, agriculture and sustainable enviro flows.

    The greens are in denial LOL
