I was brought up on a dairy farm and we used to give a calf call to the herd every day and every day they would start coming up to the milking shed when they heard it. You put a bit of feed in the head end of the bales and the cow would voluntarily put it's head through in order to eat ... you close over the lock and that traps the cow in place. Then you milk the cow.
You give the cow a little and it will let you milk it. If the cow runs out of food before you finish getting the lot?.... it tries to back out ... no probs .... just give it a little more.
Simple really .....
You give a little and in return you milk it dry .... and not only that .... the cow just keeps coming back
