I would actually prefer Webjet stays as Webjet. I can’t think of any potential suitor that I admire or really look up to in the space. That said, I’m not well researched in the beds and hotels wholesaling space where WebBeds play.
Maybe the #1 player HotelBeds, but they’re unlisted so no scrip offer?
At the end of the day, the segment that everyone is keen on for WebJet is the high growth bed banking sector run through WebBeds.
However as part of my investment thesis, I also really place a lot of importance on the success of Rezchain. It is the first practical working application for blockchain that I’ve seen. I hate bitcoin and the blockchain fad with a passion - because it drummed up a lot of attention but does nothing. The underlying principles are great but was overhyped. Now that I’m seeing a real world use case here (reducing errors = reducing costs), I am convinced that it is a key contributing factor towards their 8/4/4 goal of 50% EBITDA margins, which is going to be a-m-a-z-i-n-g !!
My highest conviction pick for 2020 is Webjet, followed closely by Nearmap. Both under appreciated companies imo.
