My view only but you never buy a business where the value lies in the brain or charisma of one individual unless they want you to buy them and even then heavily insure that person and lock them in to the most water tight contract you can just in case. Certainly up to this point if Peter van der Made was not prepared to be bought as opposed to being bought out what would be the point in acquiring BRN if he was just going to walk away.
