I think that we have a little way to go to complete data analysis of DKD (CKD in T2 Diabetes) & CVD possibly. Janssen have the outcome they want with FDA now, so maybe another phase won’t be necessary in additional analysis?
The Ph3 trial stopped early for efficacy that had over 4000 patients enrolled globally, you can imagine the work involved analysing saved blood samples from each patient on multiple trial visits. But this opportunity in collaboration with Janssen is only adding to the credibility & efficacy of what has been published recently in data in predictive values for PromarkerD, but also for one of the biggest global Pharmas to prove testing for the use Inovakana (canafliglozin) is validated in the context of drug choice. Up to 4 years predictive value is huge.
I think we will get an announcement soon on this...keeping in mind it was only announced in the USA overnight that the FDA have approved this indication for canafliglozin (Invokana) & Govt interest now in their increasing health burden in the USA from kidney disease.
