In relation to the Chinese, they are just keeping their fingers warm in the pie. It sure looks like they are not interested in any volume of carbonate from the plant, if any at all. Remember the Chinese are already getting an excellent HRE mix and that mix contains far more Dy and Tb that NTU could offer even IF they were able to run at steady state nameplate.

NTU is committed to installing the ore sorter, and this is imo only going to compound some of the issues that they are already having, and in relation to nameplate this is a very distant dream. This plant is nothing more than VERY costly junk.

The mine life was always going to become a issue at some stage, they have been drilling madly for years now without any real significant strikes. And their open cut resource availability would be lucky to feed a 2015 DFS size plant for even 5 years.
How long were they going to keep stringing this out for. At least now they have put some sort a time frame out there in this respect. Last paragraph on the 1st page of 1/07/2020 announcement.

They will be able to use the lack of resources excuse to shut this operation down for good, lets try and overlook that they have no visible market for their product or ability to even run as a cost effective business.
The up and coming quarterly will paint more of a picture as to the financial status going forward, but there should be enough to pay all bills and continue on till D'day ~12 months time. imo of course.

Yes. The possible extent and quality of the resource was definitely overstated. A few years ago I honestly thought they would have become what we all were expecting but it looks like a total fraud in 20:20 hindsight and I'm glad I woke up to the fact when I did.
