AGY is not pre construction. It has constructed twice and failed twice. That's very ouch.

Even in moderate economic conditions, the risk of a third failure or struggling to construct a third plant was huge, more a case of success being a slim outside chance than there just being a risk. But in a nasty economic climate, it's really bad.

If we're being honest, which I know isn't popular around here, EV demand has just tanked, if not in absolute numbers, at least relative to expectations. Tesla was already being attacked by its own former fan base. Most people buying new cars do it on finance and people are reluctant to take out a big loan if they're scared of economic difficulties, and that's true whether those difficulties are real or imagined. Love or hate Trump, this tariff war has caused fear in the market and overall economy.

Long term, hey, people holding off on buying EVs may create a backlog of demand down the track, and an economic crash may significantly reduce investment in lithium supply, so this could cause a greater price spike a few short years down the track.

Why you'd want to be holding AGY now though is beyond me, other than refusal to accept the reality that you should have sold long ago, which of course is the case for the vast majority.

I will say though, that's a big drop in price today, and I've actually changed my sentiment from sell to none, because short term, this may bounce a few pips. So many holders can now double, triple, quadruple down at a tiny fraction of what they paid, and some might be tempted to do so, while today's shakeout has probably caused those who were in denial to finally just dump in the panic. I wouldn't even be entirely amazed to see the CR happen above today's low of 1.4c.
