It is due to some panic selling I am sure, but also overwhelmingly due to short selling. Of course, many will know that I am against shorting in a good market; but even moreso in a bad market where buyers are very scarce, shorting has an exponential effect!
When you have big institutions such as Black Rock , Morgan Stanley and perhaps the likes of Goldman Sachs etc with big fire power, they can treat our market as a play thing , and particularly individual stocks.
