Honestly,I thought for a second,the issue is not the profit from reselling santos gas although there would b a margin not a cost,its no different to telsta 'reselling macquaries wind farm electricity' to 4 corporate customers. The point is tls must provide 'all' products and services to maintain its attraction for retail and corporate customers. The profit is in the the NAS services required to connect the energy retail and corporate customers to the grid whether monash university,ANZ, residential customers etc.Example it could be cheaper for brickworks to buy their santos gas thru telstra rather than employ people/IT to manage the distribution of the santos gas quota. Simply, to stay competitive tls must sell mobile,nbn,(reselling nbn),gas and electricity and then at some stage ? by a growth business.
