GR,i have to keep my posts short otherwise some complain.
Tls getting into banking requires a long post.
So to keep post short i reference NNT and docomo japan ie NTT being the old govt owned japan telco but since becoming private it continues to be a global telco/mobile leader.
Again NTT got into nfc payments along with docomo and with a connection to sony bank. They have their payment app and a strong control of the japanese market and they expanded to china and the US but i haven't kept track since trujillo left because thodey said tls was not getting into banking and shelved trujillos nfc trials.
Such opportunities need to be acted upon immediately as technologies develop, ntt and docomo japan and sk and kt korea acted immediately like trujillo did and now control their payments market,ie some going further and buying billion dollar transaction co's etc ie like visa etc.
So for me banking is not going to happen, but again imo only tls could talk to the banks and still establish a nfc app to counter apple etc.Because once apple etc get a grip on the australian credit card market they will increase the commissions they charge the australian banks. Each bank having its own nfc app is stupid imo. They should all use the same app and the payment terminal should b hybrid like japan to accept all nfc apps.
But thodey said he is going to leave nfc to the banks, stupid decision imo.It has left the door open to apple, alipay facebook, amazon etc to enter the australian credit card market with no competition..Banks r banks tls was the nfc tech co thodey should have understood this as nfc trials were supported by westpac, anz etc etc.
This imo is happening again with esports..
