The public were whipped into a frenzy thinking they were getting fibre to their home, which would be AMAZING! No argument there. I just didn't see an accurate costing for the project or a single investment case which has been able to accurately outline the benefit.

Fibre to each home to download movies and entertainment made overseas faster?
Or fibre to the home for a single-person household where the occupant doesn't use the internet much?
Doesn't seem like a reasonable justification to me.

Once the public became anchored to the promises of fibre to their home, any other model felt like a massive shortfall and subsequent loss for them. Combined with my comments about the mistake of calling it "national' have resulted in inciting the outrage we see now.

It's just a business project and should be costed and run appropriately.

Here's a pic of the angry mob: "WE WERE PROMISED FIBRE!" they shout!
