Yes Telstra will need to open up dedicated network links to their data centres and endpoints rather than having client traffic traversing the public internet, otherwise their DC tenants (as an example) will consider migrating away from those DCs toward the major cloud providers. Need to reduce latency and number of hops. It’s a good idea. Will be interesting to see how it can be charged for.
