The NBN is the distribution from the 145 access points To the subscriber premises.(each access point mostly corresponding to single telstra exchanges but sometimes comprising several exchange areas).
Retail service provider provides the backbone from these points to the wider internet, either with their own infrastructure or by paying a provider with a connection to take their traffic.
The 5G network (and 4G and 3G) are completely independent of the NBN in general. The data to a tower may occasionally be caried on infrastructure owned by the NBN though will be governed by a commercial agreement to hire bandwidth.
Telstra's agreement is not to specifically target the NBN market with wireless options, though once the 5G network is there nothing stops a consumer buying a 5G modem and plan, canceling their NBN, and using that for their primary internet connection
