Telstra will be in the best position to assess the true numbers as there are a range of different numbers doing the round. If Telstra is receiving a loan on favourable terms, the numbers stack up, there is opportunity to reduce costs through synergies with existing operations and the opportunity to get some brownie points with the Australian Government then Telstra would be silly not to consider the deal.
Benson, you have wondered over a long time how Telstra was going to increase revenue and profit. Well here is an example! And you want to dismiss it because it might upset the Chineese government? Thats certainly not an issue for me!
