It's fairly easy for Telstra to support large numbers of staff working 'from home'. They've always had 10s of thousands of staff working away from the workplace - up poles and down holes (probably mostly subbies these days). It's also in their interests to support working from home generally, since they benefit directly by providing the infrastructure.

Like Benson, I suspect many less motivated employees (in all workplaces) would contribute better with a tad more supervision or oversight. No doubt a high percentage of employees would claim enhanced efficiency with less travel etc, but human nature kicks in and many probably just goof off whenever they feel like it (or can get away with it). Has anyone really studied this or are the positives all postulation and hearsay?

Digicel purely as a business is a pimple on a pumpkin, but not too sure about getting involved in international diplomacy ... don't like it. Unlike Benson however, I'm fairly happy with the 41% increase in SP (plus dividends) since this time last year.
