A source close to Penn and the Telstra board said: ”Categorically Penn was sacked. The Chairman Mullen stuck with him and supported him, but he failed to convince other directors that his business plans would work.”
Goes on to say its because he stuffed up 5G rollout, with them struggling to get expected returns from it, also that Telstra is top heavy.
Neither should be surprising, 4G rollout was the same, hype is very expensive...
