It has already been reported, from several sources, that Optus is leaking many customers, following the hack of c. 10m of its current & former clients' personal details of passport nos., & of drivers' licence nos. etc. Within 1 month of the hack, it was reported Optus had lost c.10% of its customers- & many of these switched to TLS. See my links above, c. 30.10.
Optus has also been running many ads in the MSM, signs on overpasses above freeways etc. apologising for the hack- it is worried about the backlash!
There was a Morgan Stanley Broker report also that these new, unhappy Optus customers, switching to TLS, could also alone add c. 14c-30c to the SP of TLS (see my link of 10.11.22 above). How many more have defected from Optus since 10.11.22- probably, IMO, many?
Furthermore, in the @Congo-Blue AFR link above on 1.2.23, the AFR's L. Baird said, on 31.1.23, referring to comments of JP Morgan analyst J. Busuttil
"He expects total services in operation to top 30.3 million in 2026 – up 8 per cent on the 2022 financial year – and Telstra to be the biggest beneficiary after the Optus data breach".
