    In theory FTTN will be able to be upgraded to G.Fast (for 1 Gbps speed), or maybe FTTC as an alternative to FTTN.

    But Tucky has a point in that it would be cheaper in the long run to just do FTTN the first time and save everyone from the upgrade cycles that most of us will have to go through every 5 or 10 years.

    The just good enough approach of the Multi-Mix approach is cheap in the short term but more expensive in the long term, not just because of installation/upgrade costs, but also reduced maintenance and consumers will to pay more for FTTN.

    Also the excess speed that isnt needed right now that comes with FTTN is what promotes innovation, its an untapped resources for someone to capitalise on.
