One of Telstra's big problems is that it has a bureaucracy probably more of a traffic hazard than the Commonwealth Public Service, if that's what it's still called. It might be called AnybodyGov for all I know.

Example. Being of a certain generation, which as far as I know hasn't yet been reduced to a code name, I have retained my old fixed line phone service as well as a mobile.
Some time ago, a few months, they changed that to a remote dish supplied 3G service. Then lo and behold, just a few weeks ago, they told me they were going to
    upgrade that to 4G.
None of that incurred any cost to me. I should complain??
But then I started to get messages from two obviously different sections of Telstra about what was going to happen next
A guy would come and connect the new modem, they both said. Who am I to interfere with their arrangements?
He duly came, on whose instructions I don't know, and we had a chat while he connected the modem....the first one he'd done he told me
    That's ok I said.
So it had been switched. I'm still getting messages about this connection.
Imagine this kind of chaos going on all over the country and what it's costing.
