If we take TLS price of $6.16 on 15 Sept 2000. ( pick this date because all dividends after that date is 100% franked )
We have total dividends paid of $4.96 ( $7.086 franked ) over 17 years.
Gives us an average non-compounding annual yield of 6.77%.
And a capital loss of $2.7 per share.
If we , for argument sake, deduct that loss from the yield.
Our new effective return on investment is 4.18% pa. ( ignoring tax implications for an individual )
