Looks like 5g will over take nbn but looking at the US which is evolving much faster than us, cable may be able to upgraded to much faster speeds in the future. Unlike the US though the nbn will not have a mandate to upgrade and compete with 5 g. If the grand long game telstra have played a remarkable hand getting the govt to pay them for redundant almost worthless infrastructure then using the proceeds to supercede cable technology in a few years.
