I believe he is more about software than hardware/spectrum.
I had not heard about the processing for small cells being shifted to data centers, which makes sense the way things are going. And there could be, as he suggests, some new standardization issues in the data center as well. But i expect that is also shifting some of the problem of hardware standardization from hardware to software, which should make standardization easier long term looking at the big picture.
I see issues from signal strength, number of towers, increased power use, and politics from perceived health risks from a big increase in towers as big challenges.
What is coherres, is there a typo in there, google doesn't come up with anything relevant.
