I think Telstra's value is in the current mobile network footprint.
Because of the superior coverage, many customers are happy(?) to deal with the other issues.
Attracting mobile and home NBN users in the <30 and 30-65 age groups away from TPG/Voda would be a major goal in the consumer sales area, while also simplifying and automating FoH processes to cut costs (now that most of the mid/upper management cuts have happened and the structure is basically ready to be put in place).
I think Telstra's value is in the current mobile network...
