I'm what you call a hard core gamer, I spend most nights playing a range of games (xbox & PC) that require a good internet connection. This is huge, the way they are streaming games means they can greatly lower latency issues with using a mobile hotspot, add in 5g and you have a serious winner. A lot of gamers I play with use their mobile as a hot spot (4g).
Not only this, it makes gaming a lot more affordable. You no longer have to buy a console for $400-$600 plus monthly releases of games that cost $100 each (I probably buy 1-3 every month). I think a lot of people are missing the bigger picture with 5g, Telstra is probably the only Telco that is capable of rolling out 5g to this demand in the near term.
