First of all, I never said "tax the poor". As i'm fond of Matthews, Matthews 26:11 The poor will always be with us, but you will not always have me.

This thing about taxing the poor, from my perceptive, it is really labor that is taxing the poor. Think about the greenie policy of solar/wind. Only the rich could afford to have solar. The poor is struggling to pay its rent, let alone get a solar installation. Same for their EV policy, even with high uptake, we are 80-90% coal/fossile fuel. More EV means more emissions. Let alone all the lithiums mining, shipping. Every wheel on the EV used up like 2 barrels of oil to manufacture.

I was simply making the point that Labor FC policy is more on ideological lefty/socialist play to attract people that doesn't understand how capitalism works. It was in reply to @ejd99. I just watched Chris Bowens reply on this on QandA, in it he gave an example of someone earning 67K or 67K in dividend. Their whole policy is that the ones in 67K dividend gets a tax return but not the one earning 67K in wages. But what he forgot to mentioned that ATO rules anything above $19K threshold to be income. So really, both are being taxed at the correct amount. The difference is that the tax returned is due to a higher company tax of 30%. Which should be returned to shareholders. Questioner actually asked, what about the people not getting a 67K dividend and has way less. Again, another example of Labor "taxing" the poor, especially if your dividend income is below the tax free threshold. I've also said before, labor, if they are genuine should be looking at eliminating the tax free threshold, rather then dress this up as taxing the rich.

and finally, there is nothing wrong with capitalism, I personally think Mathews 13:12, To those that have, more will be given, kind of resonates to what the ethos of capitalism is about.
