Future proof I think you meant. It is not B.S as a proper internet would not ever need to be replaced for 100 years or more. I don't get your point. The only downside of FTTN is the cost. The actual product and concept no one refutes.
Two questions
1. what is the downside of FTTN except the cost which would have been about 25% more expensive from memory and finished around now.
2. what were the alternatives with hindsight? 500kb to 5mps broadband for many areas of the country? With Many still on 250 kbs.
