That's a very definitive response to the single most advanced thermal generation technology that exists. Nuclear is the only commercially proven zero carbon AND dispatchable electricity generation technology we have, even hydro is not truly dispatchable. Nuclear tech, hydrogen fuels, battery storage and renewables would all need to be tapped to get anywhere close to a low carbon society. If on the other a low carbon society is not the goal then oil and coal will continue to dominate as a pure intermittent / storage solution is prohibitively expensive as we are finding out now. And before you talk about "biomass", which is essentially buring forests, this is dispatchable but has higher emissions than coal per unit of electricity. We would be better off burning coal and planting forests.
