You really need to put politics aside, like it or not we have the nbn and tls owns a global leading fttn network in a country the size of australia.imo the last mile solution will b in technology developments.
U blame howard,i'm not going to stand up for howard he made massive/misleading mistakes re telecommunications, but how about u 'also' blame keating,he started the telstra sale process by selling 6% of telstra with no future business plan as to how the monopoly should b broken up,does that make sense probably to u .Stop yr constant political posts and concentrate on what we have to deal with as shareholders ,in yr case maybe future shareholders.
imo yr comments re acma r rubbish, penn could not have done anymore than what he did regarding requesting earlier release of 26 ghz spectrum,he spent an extra $3b capex over past 3 years ie 18% of sales on making the network 5g ready.Don't try and suggest penn did not want 26ghz spectrum released earlier, penns network is 5g ready 'now' but real mmWave wont b auctioned till early 2021..Capex was never an issue for tls for their global leading mobile network.
acma made it very clear they were having issues causing delays in the release of 26ghz due to current users not wanting to give the spectrum up.Obviously the govt authority should have started the planning for the 26ghz release earlier.
What penn should now do is tell acma to start the process of releasing 6g spectrum. Not that it is his job,its the job of the over paid useless govt acma authority.
Do some home work, amca is in control of spectrum, acma is the govt authority that should b keeping an eye on global developments, its not even penns job to tell acma what to do regarding spectrum release but he did on many occasions. To suggest that tls wants even 75ghz delayed is ridiculous but thats what u r suggesting.
Tls/penn has maintained a global leading mobile network as most global telcos would agree including global leading tech co's and tls does get alot of respect globally, what tls can't do is utilize that network to value add.
Tls heads many global telco meetings for a reason, the telco is well respected as far as being a leading mobile technology network/co.
